I remember back in the day when the Rating on a game was really much enforced. As for what I'm talking about, rating is what they rated/labeled the game as; Rated E for Everyone, Rated T for Teens, Rated M for Mature.
Rated E for everyone is that any one is able to buy this game, and any one of any age can play the game. Rated T for Teens, Teens can buy this game but must have an adult with them. But this also means that the content for the game is rated towards the Teen Culture and above. I believe it was made that kids can't be under the age of 12 or 13, if the game was Rated T for Teens. Teen games aren't that bad, so adults would let their young children play Teen games. Rated M for Mature has two rules. You must be at least the age of 17 or older in order to buy a Rated M game, and that you "should" be at least the age of 17 or older to play a Rated M game. Because that was the whole point. To not let younger kids play a violent, gore, sex type games. So here's my opinion or thoughts. In these past few years parents have been ragging on game producers such as Rockstar for making Grand Theft Auto, or other Shooter Games, fighting games that are REALLY violent and gore. They're saying like, "Why are you making such games that our kids are playing and they're young! You're ruining their minds!"....To me, I'm thinking to myself, "Umm okay, first of all, it's not the creators fault for making your kid ruining their lives or being stupid and immature because of how they pick things up through video games. It's the parents fault or who ever bought these kids those games." There's a reason to why they're Labeled/Rated. A lot of these Rated M games involve or at least show drugs, sex, violence, gangs, etc. You know, maybe if these rules were enforced a little bit more to these kids to this new generation, kids might have a better future. Man, I remember when I was 8-13 years old most game stores would enforce this shit and remind people what the games are rated. This isn't only on console gaming, it's also on PC gaming. Nowadays, parents/people don't even pay attention to these games on how they're rated. So what's the point of even having these games Rated anymore? I mean yeah sure it prevents young teens from buying Rated M games, but they're always gonna have someone older than them, buy it for them. Have you guys ever paid any attention to what the game is Rated? It seems to me as each year passes by, more and more kids are playing more and more Rate M, mature games. |

Yeah my brother is only 10, (I think) and he's playing games like Grand theft auto. And his attitude and personality is crap, he swears at everyone and at his friends, and we've got calls from his teachers about his attitude.
And like you said, our parents don't give a blind fuck. Im totally with you

This has been an increasing problem for a very long time now, I must agree that it would be best if this were to change but the sad truth is that 95% of parents no longer care what their children do.
80% of children in the us are allowed to do pretty much whatever they want, and what is even more sad is the fact that everyone has the opinion well we can't change it so we just as well let it continue now days. The truth is back in the old days we would not allow stuff like this to happen we would take a stand and put a stop to it one way or another now if you attempt to put a stop to it you will get thrown in prison or killed. The younger generation will have a much harder time growing up in the world because of all of the things parents now let their children get away with, drugs, sex, violence is seen almost on a daily basic now for most children, 75% of all movies made now contain drug, sex, or violence in them.

Like Kids would not be doing this kind of stuff of there was some sort of discipline in their house hold from their parents.
Man kids these days don't even get any sort of discipline. |

I think the reason more and more children are starting to disobey is because of games like this...I mean, my parents always used to tell me how they would obey anything their parents told them, because of discipline. Nowdays, I think parents are being more laidback, giving their children the go-ahead to act however they please...

U got it all wrong. These are suggestions for this game and it warns you of use of bad language and violence etc. Also only idiots think that going to do gang work in america is a good idea. |

lol these suggestions doesn't warn you for the use of bad language and violence etc. They already tell you that if the game contains gore, bad languge, etc. It's a whole separate thing from what the game is being Rated/Labeled. Are you really that stupid? The games are rated a certain way because it's made for those certain types of audiences ages. This new generation of kids is getting more stupid because all they do is lounge around and play violent video games. These kids need discipline which of course none of them get. As Josh said, people will get the mindset of thinking it's okay to do. Once they've done it a few times, they'll think that nothings wrong with what they're doing. Man don't forget about all the gaming technology nowadays. |
